The Gaia Hypothesis

Wikipedia defines the Gaia Hypotheis as:
An ecological hypothesis proposing that the biosphere and the physical components of the Earth (atmosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere) are coupled to form a complex interacting system. This coordinated system of living organisms maintains the climatic and biogeochemical conditions on Earth in a preferred homeostasis. Named after the Greek Titan of the earth, the hypothesis is frequently described as viewing the Earth as a single organism.
This has had an impact on the intellectual community and several writers have based novels on the idea. What it means for entrepreneurs is that their business and the context in which their businesses are embedded should be seen holistically. The entrepreneur should act as though the entrepreneur, all aspects of the entrepreneur's business, and all the entrepreneur's first level contacts should be be treated as part of the entrepreneur's business.
